This is another comic I cut and saved and found in the junk drawer.  I thought it was hilarious then and I think it’s hilarious now.  How much truer to life can you get?  Especially with a babe in arms!

I was doing some cleaning out of our “junk” drawer this afternoon.  It’s really supposed to be our “pen” drawer but Ben complained that all the drawer contains are wannabe pens (pens that don’t work)- we pull one out of the drawer- try to write with it- then finding it doesn’t work what do we do?  Throw it back in the drawer of course so we can go through the same lovely experience over and over again when all we want to do is add “yams” to the grocery list.  In the junk drawer  I came across this comic strip from over a year ago that I had found humorous enough to cut out and save.  I thought it appropriate humor considering the current economic state of affairs.  Even funnier to me today since I was working on our taxes.

It’s not that Nolan doesn’t smile a lot- he does- it’s that it’s hard to catch on camera still.  He sees that camera and quick as a flash he gets that serious wide-eyed look.  As often as he sees that camera you’d think he’d smile at it like a 3rd parent, but I guess it looks nothing like Ben or I or anything even human.  In fact- here’s one of the best photos yet of that “wide-eyed-what-is-that-weird-thing-mom’s-holding?” look.  By the way Nolan is 3 months and a couple weeks or so now.
