It’s exciting that Nolan is smiling more and more, especially in response to someone making happy sounds to him.  But we are having the hardest time getting pictures of all this smiling!  We’ll be talking to him and smiling and he’ll be all smiling back and making cute sounds and then we try get out the camera and catch a picture, but Nolan sees the camera and immediately becomes serious.  We’ve tried both whipping out the camera quickly, and slyly bringing it out slowly.  No matter what we do he sees it right away and looks straight into the lens intently.  This picture is the best smile we’ve been able to capture in weeks and it’s only a half-smile.  I wonder what he’s thinking when he sees our camera?  He sees it so often I figured he’d think was his third parent by now…mommy, daddy, and camera.

Nolan was taking a bath with me and the water was so toasty he started sweating.  If you look closely you will see little sweat-droplets on Nolan’s nose…this exactly one of the unique places where sweat gathers on Ben’s nose when he eats hot salsa or wasabi or does any other number of things that causes sweating.  I don’t think I have ever had sweat coming off my nose.  You got that one from daddy Nolan.

Here’s our little boy when he was just 2 days old….

And now he’s 2 months old….

All the little wrinkles are smoothing out as the fat settles in…and look at those cheeks! Talk about Chubbers!
