To the tune of “we all scream for ice-cream”:

Fish oil! Fish Oil! We all scream for fish oil! (yeah, totally doesn’t go).

Couldn’t Love Any Other Little Person More….

July 16th, 2012 by Busy Mommy

This is my bear.

The most important thing to me is that he is raised in a loving environment.  I love him SO MUCH.  SO MUCH.

Sometimes I feel very sad that I can’t give him all that I wish to- we’re not talking missing toys here.  I wish I could give him a sibling.  I wish I could give him parents with energy to keep him thriving and stimulated.  I wish I could always respond in the perfect way in every situation in every moment of each day.  I wish I could take away all the horrible things in the world for him.  He’s my bear.

“The Workers”

July 5th, 2012 by Busy Mommy

Nolan woke up hearing the fireworks on July 4th and came rushing out to the garage where I was, all bleary eyed and disoriented.  He was scared of course.  Ben explained all about how the noise he was hearing was from fireworks, and how they are toys that people play with.  Then he took him outside to show him just what was going on.  Nolan was quite excited and agreeing with everything he said.  Pretty soon Nolan was elaborating and talking a mile a minute- all about “the workers” and demonstrating with this hands how they explode and boom “like that.”  And how it’s “like a house…with the workers.”  It seemed like he didn’t quite get what we were saying.  Ben explained again, “no, it’s not workers, it’s just regular people playing with toys that make lights and loud sounds.”  10 minutes later Nolan was still jabbering away about “the workers” and suddenly Ben and I made eye contact in our confusion trying to figure out what he was talking about and in the instant our eyes met we figured out he was calling the fireworks “the workers.” He threw in lots of other words too like “fire-teeth” and “thomas the fire-train.”
