We recently attended a party in celebration of Nolan’s Great Grandparents 60th anniversary. Yes 60. Sixty. Six and a Zero. 6…0…put em together. Not only is that astounding in itself, but these two people are still full of life! They still Greek dance, travel and do all manner of things that you just wouldn’t think someone who’s been married for 60 years would have the health to do. And no, they didn’t get married when they were 5. I’m embarassed to say I don’t have a picture of the two of them together from the party, but I have a lovely one of Nolan’s Big Yiayia and his Uncle Caleb. Of course Nolan was the 3rd star of the show at the party as many relatives laid their eyes on him for the first time. He might have even been the 1st star of the show, who knows? Babies, especially when they are related somehow, really get people excited.
The two people in black in this video? Yes- that’s the couple who have been married 60 years- Nolan’s Big Yiayia and Papouli (aka Great Grandparents)

These pics of Nolan eating sweet potato are not the same occasion as 2 nights ago when I fed Nolan some sweet potato and then around 11:30 or so while sleeping in his crib we heard him coughing and came in and he was throwing up…that was the first time, and he threw up 3 more times before 12:30 a.m. Poor little guy- he had me pretty scared. This was my first time with Nolan looking and acting pretty ill. I was concerned about dehydration and Ben went off to the store around 1a.m. to get some Pedialyte as I wasn’t able to get Nolan to nurse- I think he was just too nauseated at the time and so he was extremely listless and his eyes has a vacant look. He just laid in my arms very still and was very sleepy. But finally by around 1 a.m. I had gotten him to nurse a good amount and he fell asleep in my arms in the rocking chair. When Ben got back from the store he held him a little longer and then we took him in our bed with us so we could make sure he was alright the rest of the night. He was thankfully and by morning he was his usual self. We aren’t really sure what it was exactly that caused it- but he didn’t have a fever and he felt fine after his stomach got rid of it’s contents, so we think it was most likely something amiss with the particular sweet potato that night.

I think he knows what I want him to do when I’m holding the digital camera and I say “Smile Nolan!” because he almost always does when I say it….I figure that’s a good word to be among the first he understands…
