A friend and I- four years ago

December 5th, 2011 by Busy Mommy

This is me and one of my good friends.  I came across this photo today while looking for different hiking and nature photos to print and put in our office.  It’s funny to think that when this photo was taken, neither of us had children or any of thoughts of them yet.  Life was certainly simpler then, but now oh how much richer with these two little tykes.

It was a little too quiet and how thickening mascara was developed

November 3rd, 2011 by Busy Mommy

I was in the office working on something when I realized Nolan wasn’t around and it seemed like it had been awfully quiet for a little too long.  I was right.  I decided it was something I had to photograph before trying to put my makeup back together.

But I learned something- I think I know how the first thickening mascara was thought of and invented- some little two year old got into their mommy’s makeup bag and took the mascara wand and jabbed it into a creme eyeliner pot and then back into the mascara holder. The mommy tried to wipe it off and the next time she used it on her eyelashes she found it coated her lashes QUITE thickly- much too thickly- BUT hmmmmm…..there could be something to this with a few tweaks…..

Nolan helping Daddy make the bycicle a “two-seater”

November 3rd, 2011 by Busy Mommy

Ben got the idea to get one of those seats on his bike so that he could take Nolan out riding and Ben could get some exercise after work while still getting him off my hands spending some time with him. 😉

Nolan wanted to get on that bike so very bad and you could see that were some work involved in making that happen so he was extremely serious the whole time- he was trying to help Ben get the seat together and it took longer than we all anticipated and you could almost see Nolan “willing” his daddy to finish the bike so he could get on it, hoping and wishing that it would be possible.  When it came time to put on his helmet and get him all buckled in he was as serious as ever.
Here’s a quick video of Nolan helping:
